Jon Cleveland began his culinary spice journey in a small home-kitchen in McKinney, Texas in 2002, when he became frustrated with the lackluster flavor profiles of store-bought seasonings. After trying countless spice blends for steak, chicken, pork, and seafood, none lived up to his expectations. Not only that, most were overloaded with salt and tailored to just one type of meat, leaving little room for creativity in the kitchen.
Inspiration Hits, Flavor Follows
Determined to find the perfect seasoning, Jon would mix 7-8 different store-bought blends until he achieved the desired flavor. But, he quickly grew tired of the tedious process of using multiple bottles just to season a single dish. That’s when inspiration struck: why not combine all the right ingredients into one versatile blend that could elevate any dish?

When his wife saw the growing demand from friends and family who couldn’t get enough of his homemade mix, she encouraged him to take his flavor profile to market-- creating a seasoning that was not only flavorful, but also low in sodium and free from cheap, filler ingredients.
